Rictameter
A nine-line poem, called the rictameter.
The first 5 lines are very similar to a cinquain.
The rictameter pattern of syllables per line goes like this:
2,4,6,8,10,8,6,4,2.
Also, the first and last lines must be the same.
let's hush
let us listen
a while. Here they come: when
what, where, why, how long, how often
rushing towards us while we are so lonely . . .
let us hush for a while—list en:
they come towards us rushing . . .
we are lonely . . .
let's hush
