The Haiku Three Questions Series
1) Why do you write haiku?
I write haiku because it has the ability to capture, in a few words, a significant moment that can be interpreted equally well at the literal level or at a higher, metaphoric level turning it into an aha moment.
2) What other poetic forms do you enjoy?
I had six books of very short poems which I call:
"Flashes or Embers" before I began writing haiku on 2006.
Haiku captivated me by its brevity, simplicity and immediacy.
Recently, I discovered the Haiga artwork which captivated me, too, because it adds another layer to haiku.
3) Of the many wonderful haiku you've written, what do you consider to be your top three?
Here are my three haiku:
cloudy morning-
a kite flies higher
than its string
Daily Haiku(May 12,2008)
tinywords(2007-04-13)
peace talk-
the third crow
of a rooster
Daily Haiku(August 04, 2008)
that full moon-
a coin falls into
the beggar's palm
Daily Haiku(May 15,2008)
