Story Poem

A story poem
based on the following illustration
by Virginia Francis Sterrett

I have
a dream,but,
I don't
have a window
to overlook it

The Dream of Princesses

many,
so many times,
I've dreamt
that my shoe will
unconsciously
slip
from my foot...
and a prince
will wander
in a long...
long.....
long trip,
looking for:
.....ME.....

  1. I love your introductory stanza - a dream without a window - that is an amazing thought. Your take on a princess's dilemma feels very fresh and new.

  4. I agree, I love the dream without a window, and I enjoyed your foot-loose princess, too.

  5. This is beautiful, and yet, I had a moment of whimsical Amythink in which the inky whatchamacallit WAS the prince, which would make that a bad dream indeed!

OK, had to say that first. Your choice of words is lovely, Rita, and I did love the illustration you chose. The "dream without a window" seems to have struck a chord in us all... Thanks, Amy

    2. Kerry, I appologize for not having enough time to visit everybody. My daughter's wedding is close and I am left with no time. I do my best to visit your blogs and comment.
One month or two, and I will be totally free and much more active.
Thanks for accepting me among such warm members. I feel that you are one family.
