by Rita Odeh
We're pleased to welcome Rita back to Haigaonline. Born in Nazareth to a Palestinian Christian family, Rita received her B.A. in English and Comparative Literature from Haifa University, returned to teach high school English and Creative Writing in her hometown. She has published six books of poetry and an e-book of haiku, as well as short stories and novels, and has contributed haiku to many print and online publications. In addition to Haigaonline, her haiga have been published in Daily Haiga and Sketchbook; more may be seen on her blog, Catching the Moment, and in an album at Flickr.
One thing I've always enjoyed about Rita's haiku and haiga her use of birds as imagery; you'll find three here, but what really links the work in this album is time of day.
